“Your dad is going to be so fucking pissed at me…” Phoenix growled at himself and looked over his shoulder, crossing his arms then glaring back at Aurora, who was too busy digging into the sand with her webbed fingers.
“He’ll only be mad if he finds out… You know you didn’t have to come with me anyway. I could’ve handled myself.” Aurora didn’t bother to look up to Phoenix when she spoke, checking little grains of sand and larger chunks of debris only to fling it to the side to keep searching through the ruins.
“ I didn’t have to, but you going alone to a fucking shipwreck graveyard, alone, is just asking for you to be chewed up and shat out by a shark.”
“You said alone twice.” The colorful mermaid finally glanced to Phoenix, avoiding addressing his worries, to swim towards a larger pile of broken ship parts once she noticed a glimmer of something reflective.
Phoenix stayed silent for a moment, his frown only deepening from being corrected and not acknowledged. He’d shake his head, forcing himself out of his slightly appalled state.
“Shut up…” The merman rolled his eyes as he groggily whispered under his breath and followed her, still on edge for any predators nearby.
