Ring of protections

Prompt #95 talisman.

Not long after Ametist moved in with the sweet old lady she was gifted a ring. The ring seemed ordinary at first, just a plain golden ring. But as Ametist learned more about the secrets of the stars her magic grew and Ametist started to notice the ring changed with it. Soon the ring was full of different kinds of runes and symbols. She did not yet know the meaning of all the symbols, but she knew in her heart that the rings power protected her from evil.

When the ring was so full it could not fit anymore it started to change from day to day and the things Ametist might need protection against the ring knew before she did and changed after that.

One day the ring had a pinkish glow to it and felt warm against her finger as to say, “I’m here, I will protect you”. Ametist knew something must be wrong. This was the day she found the sweet old lady who had raised her from a child dead.
