Leafy Kama - Vermillion Earth Weapon

After being left outside for months on end, the park owners assumed that the weapon was abandoned. They were very uncomfortable with a weapon being left where anyone could find it. It was their responsibility to make sure no one was hurt as they enjoyed the natural landscape, and a random child finding and swinging a kama around would be unsafe in almost any enviornment. At least she thought it was their responsibility, but it seemed to be exclusively her responsibility.

Lacy's coworkers had saddled her with the weapon. "Either sell it, keep it, or throw it, but don't leave it here," they said. No one wanted it and she was the unlucky one to pull a short straw. She didn't know what to do with this thing! Grass crunched beneath her feet on the hot summer day as she walked to a dumpster. The kama might have been worth something if it wasn't for the scratched paint and the applied paint on the handle. Some kid must have mistaken a deadly weapon for an art project. It had depictions of leaves with a viney likeness wrapping around the bottom of the handle. There was also the fact that this weapon, which was usually used in a pair, was found all by itself. Surely it had no value anymore. At a loss for what to do Lacy was about to toss it. That was until she noticed a tiny bit of dirt on the inside of one of the holes.

She tired to blow the dirt out and then leaped back in suprise. The dirt blew away along with a thousand tiny bright-red maple leaves. It came out with such force that the dumpster was knocked right onto its side as if it were a paper weight. Lacy gasped and dropped the thing as if it was venonmous. Such a tiny blow caused that much damage! What would a hard puff do!? It sat in the dirt as she thought, and thought, and thought. Then she realized that the thing had some worth after all. A lone unmagical kama was not a wise thing to sell (in her eyes), but a magical artifact could bring in a decent amount of gold.

Lacy carefully reached down and picked the kama back up; being careful to keep it a good distance away. She was not a fan of most weapons but she was even less of a fan of the unknown. Curious about its properties she grabbed the handle like a baseball bat and swung. It cut clean through the air with a whistling noise, but that was it. Trying again with the blade angled so the wind would go through the hole only produced the same effect. Steeling herself to give it one last go she focused hard on the imaginary leaves. Lacy never had any magical ability, but due to work she had some experience with magical objects. She swung a final time, and leaves sprayed out of the holes like water through a fire-fighter's hose. Lacy looked at the lone kama and then brought it back with her. Surely she would find someone who would be interested in this. She had heard that the traveling merchant would be coming soon, and her mind wandered to how much gold this magical kama might earn.
