Lyra was not a cold place, but the Crystal Wyrm had flung Penny so high up in the sky that she felt the stinging wind imbue her pumpkiny flesh with a bitter chill. It would take some time for her to return to her usual orange hue and yellow glow. However, she could not explain why her clothing had changed too.
Fun fact from the artist - This color swap was partly inspired by the Ghost Pumpkin, a type of pumpkin that grows white and my family used to grow it.
