Malachite Necklace

Root was Alice's best friend. A red fox with ashy fur at the end of his tail, ears, and paws. He did everything with Alice- hunt, sleep, guard young pups, and scare off bears. Root had found this Malachite necklace on the side of a dirt path, likely a hiker had dropped it. He gifted it to Alice as thanks. However, it would be his last thanks to give to the fox hybrid. Root was found dead at dawn, his flank clawed and his tail torn. It appeared to be the work of a domesticated animal, like a hunter dog or a cat. Alice has despised the common domesticated animals ever since.
