A Stolen Boruk - Aryol's Talisman

     A boruk is a whiplike weapon commonly seen in the Southwestern and Western regions inhabited by Klaimani. On it are small, hooked blades that catch easily onto clothing, flesh (usually resulting in okay-sized flesh wounds), and gaps in armor. The boruk's whip function activates upon the pressing of the trigger, where the pressurized mechanization propels the whip to extend. When the trigger is released, the boruk will retract. When retracted, it can serve as a strange blade with a pointed spike at the end. Its power can cause the whip-blade to shoot through objects that are soft enough. Usually a boruk is used as a means to rein adversaries in, but can also be used as a means for crowd control.

     Aryol lifted one of these off an officer of his city's soldier-police, who was in no sober state to resist. He uses it as a retracting whip to pull enemies in with one hand, having a dagger ready in the other--he is ambidextrous. He began etching symbols into each segment upon his arrival in new worlds, and it is a constant reminder of his history (he often holds it close while crying to himself about his problems).
