A tradition amongst Lloy'd elven tribe, is to make a totem of one's choosing from a sacred tree of the forest. Lloyd was nearly forbidden to participate in this tradition, as all elves who become of age (around 15 - 17), all go out and create their totems together in the tribe's sacred forest. But on the night of the ceremony, when Lloyd stayed at home instead of attending the ceremony, Lloyd's Mother came home with a sturdy branch from one of the forest's trees, and helped Lloyd create his chosen totem: an ocarina, as Lloyd has cherished childhood memories of his mother playing ocarina songs to him as lullabies.
Upon completing the ocarina totem, his Mother bestowed and affixed a white quartz crystal onto it, to represent that no matter where he goes in the world, she will always be with him, and love him.
While it is somewhat crudely made, and produces little to no sound, it still is a totem dedicated to his sacred forest and the deities protecting over it, and a special belonging as it was created alongside his loving Mother.
