Ezekiel Ref

Ref sheet for Ezekiel! He's still unapproved, but I don't think anything'll get pinged that requires corrections. I hope so, anyway.

I've got a lot of lore ideas for him, it's all still unfolding but I at least know what part he plays now.

Design Notes

His runemarks/bones aren't optional, but can be simplified! Feel free to make them less complex if needed.

The frost ticks layer on top of the runemarks and only where the runemarks would be present.

The runemarks also have a little bit of iridescence to them, but it's minimal.

His anatomy in this form isn't concrete; it can be molded to fit a style or something, so long as he's still recognizeable. I never keep consistent anatomy for my stryx anyway, keep forgetting lol.

He has another form, a lore related one, but I don't have a design ref for it yet. It's the form he takes when he kills the god of light and gains their powers. I'll update once that form has a look.

Lore Notes

Ezekiel was a guide that watched over souls moving on to their next purpose, helping them along where needed. He didn't necessarily enjoy this position, which is one of the reasons he became so enamored with Tempest, the Goddess of the Aurora.

Ezekiel fell in love with Tempest for her beauty, kind nature, and her status as a celestial being. She was a god, and he was just a pawn to them. Someone who could do the job that they didn't want to do.

Ezekiel sought that status for himself, a status to make himself much more than the part he currently played in the world. He knew, based on the traditions of the gods, that bonding to a god as their life partner would earn him even just a part of that status, or at least make him more than he would ever be with another of his status.

When Tempest is banished from the realm of the gods for interfering with the mortal world, Ezekiel didn't know what to do. He'd never had good relations with any other god, not that he saw them often, but now his only chance to fulfill his ambitions was slipping through his talons like dry sand.

After attempting to return Tempest's memories from her life as a god and failing to do so, Ezekiel hunted down one of the gods and killed them. It was the God of Light, but due to the nature of a god's job, Ezekiel was forced to absorb the god's powers and take the position for himself.

Ezekiel, instead of taking the position of god like he's always wanted, chose to invade the realm of the gods with his newfound powers, attempting to destroy the remainder of the gods and rule the realms himself. He obviously failed, being driven out and forcibly banished to the mortal realm as well.

What a god couldn't do to another god, however, was strip them of their powers. Ezekiel woke up alone and afraid in the mortal realm, veins flowing with unknown powers out of his control. He eventually trained himself to handle them, but something in his mind told him he wasn't supposed to be here. That something was very wrong.

Ezekiel eventually became a rogue element of the mortal world, one to be feared and avoided at all costs. He dedicates himself to finding his true purpose, along the way recovering small fragments of his memory, further fueling his hatred towards the world he found himself in.
