Origin, Allusions & Influences: In Norwegian folklore, there are many stories about Huldra (which means "secret", "covered") and her people known as Huldre Folk (“mountain people”, "the small ones underground" or “hidden people”)  A gaurdian of cattle, horses and all wild creatures, she is fierce in her protection of the forest.

Age: Unknown.  At least as old as the forest.

Appearance: From the front, the huldra is a beautiful young woman, but also has a cow’s tail, lynx ear tufts, and whose back appears to be like a hollowed out tree
