Russell Crowe

Well I dont know about all you people out there that are for Johnny Deep and them, but I personally have a fetish for Russell Crowe. I mean... come on!!! He was in Friggin Gladiator!! One of the best movies I have ever seen!!! Well anyway, I have seen it a million times, but we were watcing it in History, because we just finished learning all about Ancient Rome (and let me tell you, this movie never gets old!!), and I just couldn't take my eyes off of Maximus/Russell Crowe!!! Well I had today off since break started, and I just HAD to draw him, now that I am semi-satisfied with how my art looks, my realism specifically. So here he is. Enjoy!! And please, no advice, because I feel That I have done enough with him, and I have been murdering myself trying to get him to look right. :cries:

Anyway, yes please do tell me how you think he came out. :) And Yes I know his eyes look a tad bit odd, but that is how they looked in the refrence image I used. Mayb eI should do a background for this? Tell me what you think about that, and for now I will leave this under sketches.

For future info, its where his eyes are looked which is the problem- they're pointing outwards. Eyes natrally look on the crosseyed side of straight ahead. Also his left eye is drooping a little on the outside of it. OTher than tht, its a great attempt at a KIWI!! *wootyness* ^^ *wave NZ banner in pride* XD

Russell Crowe looks so dead sexy in Gladiator. I LOVE that movie! That aside... I want to say that I am so very impressed with your realism skills. They are developing so rapidly and it is amazing to watch. You made his eyes so wonderful to look at. Those are the trademark "sad" eyes of his for sure. Those are the hardest eyes that I have ever tried to do. I had to do some like that on Orlando Bloom when I drew him. And it is so hard to make them look right without making them look like they are completely exhausted. I think his mouth looks fab, but maybe just a little wider and it would be perfect. You should be so proud of yourself for this one love. You always surprise and amaze me all at the same time. All my love. ^_^

  Yes the eyes were absolutely a PAIN IN THE... rearend. And then came the mouth.... I think the nose is the easiest, I used to have a hard time at rendering noses, but I found a neat trick that helps me, with it.

  No problem babe! I love looking at your beautiful art! I just wish you would do one and put it on Finished sometime...make that a goal...try and draw something that is from deep down and finish it and put it in finished I think that would be great

  Actually I amd going to go back and fix his right eyes, because in person it looks fine, but when I scanned it it came out... odd looking. So I am going to fix it up. Thanks for the great comments!!
