Summer Games
As the summer heat reaches its peak, and the air grows balmy and thick, Stryx and their riders partake in an annual tradition; the Summer Games!
These games put both Stryx and rider to the test, whether they are Arena regulars or hot-blooded hopefuls, all have trained and toiled to prove their strength not only to their own people, but to those from all over the world of Wyvera who travel far and wide to attend and watch the competition!
This is the leaserboard where you can see where you are in the competition.
Rules:
- 3 Entries per week - Your Stryx could suffer heat exhaustion, so all competitors are strictly limited to how many times they can compete in a week. Make sure that you add in a prop or something related to what game your stryx is competing in so that we can tell what game you entered!
- Quality - The stryx must be depicted at full body, and must be at least either flat-colored,grayscale, or shaded. Backgrounds are optional. Sketchy lines are okay; you're not expected to put as much effort into these images to prevent burn out for this leaderboard type of event. Written entries must be at least 600 words.
- However, you are welcome to put more effort into it for more AP. It will not affect the judging process if your stryx has won the game or not.
- Entries may be collabed! However, collabs must have both player's stryx depicted in art and literature.
- No Commissions! This means your cannot get an entry commissioned for you. All entries, drawn or written, are required to be made by the owner of the Stryx.
- No entry sheets! For the sake of helping out the admins, do not put multiple entries on a single upload. You may use PaperDemon’s hidden submission option.
- Stryx must belong to you, or owned by the group! If you do not have a Stryx, you can use any of the Group Starters!
- Blind Stryx- Must have completed Blindness training prior to entering in the summer games. There is no guarantee that they will get their training approved before your entry is judged if you do it at the same time.
- Behavior - Have a positive attitude, and be a good sport! The chances of winning are the same for everyone, and everyone is at the mercy of RNG. Don't bully or discourage your competitors.

Participation Price
The souvenir flyball will be in a blog to claim. This is for anyone that has at least participated once in any game during the event. This souvenir flyball will be deposited into your inventory and you are welcome to equip it to a stryx of your choice but it's not required. You can hoard it in your inventory. You can do that via import changes if you cannot auto equip it

Trophies:
If you get at least 1 win in each event, you will receive a Summer Games Champion Trophy! Your stryx will earn the trophy below if they score 12 points or higher on an entry.
And at the end of the event, a tally will be taken to see who earned the most wins for Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medallions!
Event Prompts:
Weight Pull
In a show of ultimate strength, riders strap their Stryx into heavy-duty harnesses and connect them to a large pile of logs. With their rider's encouragement, the Stryx pulls these heavy weights across the ground as far as they can, or for larger breeds, can even attempt to lift the logs into the air by attempting to fly upwards! Whichever method is used, the crowd delights in seeing the pure muscle-power of each competitor!

Death Roll
Two Stryx must coordinate their movements, and show the ultimate bond of trust with their Riders as they fly far above the crowd, spiraling and soaring slowly upwards and into the clouds, until finally they tuck their wings and dive! It's a deadly game of chicken, and Stryx will lock talons half-way along their speedy descent, and at the signal of their Riders will release and spread their wings to avoid colliding with the ground. Whoever pulls out of the dive first loses!
This event is for flighted Stryx only!

Talon Toss
This game is meant to zero in a Stryx's leg strength! They must start by standing on a high hill or cliffside, while a small stack of cut logs is placed into their line of sight. At their Rider's command, the Stryx will dive, pick up speed, and snatch up the log stack, and then fling it forward and release. Whoever tosses the logs the furthest distance wins!

Fly Ball
Similar to polo, this game can be played on the ground or in the air. If played on the ground, a heavy leather-bound ball is placed on the ground in the middle of a circle of competitors. When the horn blows, every Stryx dives for the ball. Riders may hit the ball with long sticks, while Stryx can kick the ball or pick it up in their beaks. The Stryx and Rider must directly hit, kick, or carry the ball into a marked goal area in order to score a point! Stryx are allowed to bump into and wing slap each other in order to get the ball. Biting, however, is an automatic disqualification!
Played in the sky, the ball is tossed into the air in the middle of a group of Stryx and Riders, and the Stryx must grasp the ball in their beak or in their talons, or the Rider can hold it, and race toward a marked goal area, all while flying! Riders are allowed to use slingshots and soft bean bags in order to hit other Riders and distract them, or even knock them off their Stryx! If this happens, there are always Stryx and Riders waiting on the ground, keeping a close eye out so they can catch falling Riders. Helpful Windhounds will come to the aid of the fallen riders.

Diving
Similar to a fun pool game for children, this game is played in large bodies of water. This game is where a Stryx will dive into the deep water and collect one heavy duty weighted ring at a time to bring back up to the surface to hand off to their Rider to keep track of how many they have collected. They have to completely get out of the water and then dive back into the water to collect another ring. The goal is to collect as many as they can in the allotted time per competitor.
This event is for Diver Stryx only!

10000 Meter Dash
Similar to a human race, this game will take place on a controlled track. Each Stryx will have to follow these rules to make sure they are racing fairly! The runner has to stay within their designated lanes and cannot cross lanes, throughout the race. Obstructing the other runners or cheating is strictly prohibited. The goal is to have a clean and fair race.
This event is for Runner Stryx only!

Judging Process:
This event is somewhat of a leaderboard event and the person with the highest score will either place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.
Each entry will be judged by a small panel of 3 NPC judges. They will observe your stryx to make sure they are following the rules and ect.
Each judge will give a score 1-6. An admin will use a custom Google sheet roller made by Shav, the lowest score you can get is 3 and the highest score you can get is 18.
You will have access to a leaderboard to see how many points you have earned so far during the span of the event.
