[Art] With Gently Smiling Jaws

With gently smiling jaws... and a not so gently rumbling stomach! I like the pose of the dragon here, the winding motion of it combined with the level surface from which the leave the water from suggest that it was just meandering by and that tuna was unfortunate enough to look delicious, haha.

Including the bubbles was a great call, it creates a sense of motion that often is lost in underwater pieces. The ones from the spikes at the surface in particular, as well as those from the dragon's jaws, came out wonderfully. However, the ones from the fins are grouped up less effectively. If you redistributed them along the back edge of the fin so that they became denser towards the area of highest velocity (the tips of the fins), it would feel more natural.

The color choices of the water is a lot of fun! Coloring the depths green makes it feel both colorful and murky, somewhere I could easily seeing this big beauty residing, while the pastel gold of the light from above gives a sense that it's early sunset while also setting the background in a delightful, soft combination of colors. Great piece!
