Yeah- theoretically it does get easier as you get older. It doesn't stop it though. I guess you just shut it off after a while Sad

I'd like to think it's more because you've come into who you are, so you're more confident in being able to look at a name/label that someone is trying to put on you, and either accept or reject it. Of course, there are varying degrees to which it works, and it's still p awful to go through, regardless of how capable you are of dealing with those labels. This is just my way of . . . dealing, I guess, but I know it's still a really unfortunate struggle for plenty of other people.

    It's a romantic thought Sad I'd love to say it happened in every case, but I think it's more true that it happens in some cases. I guess it all depends on when it starts. If you had a foundation to begin with. If you know that they're talking crap then it's easier to handle. Some handle it better. Apparently men can take the heat more than women. Donno. I know I didn't' benefit from it Sad

      I know. It's an awful situation all around, and I know that I'm lucky that I can handle it as well as I do. But I also know that I don't always get to keep up such a strong front. So I'm not immune to the things that people say by any means, and I definitely feel for anyone who has to go through anything like this. D: I'm sorry that you had a hard time of it when you were younger, too. I hope things are better for you now, though. <3

        Totally Smile In fact, I have quite the opposite problem O.o I realised my downfalls as a personality, realised that I no longer knew the losers that dissed me and that I didn't have to play the part of the victim anymore so just came back out of my shell again. I'm still very shy, but I'm alot happier than I use to be in school ^^
