Thanks for the comment! The heifer organization doesn't give animals to the poor to eat. Instead, the poor will sell the wool from the sheep. The idea is give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime. Heifer Organization is giving people a means to help themselves and teaching them how to raise farm animals, instead of just feeding them. They sell the eggs from the chickens, milk from the cows, etc.
