Well, Candy Coated critiques...
1) It's a nice character design. Not very original per se, but a comfortable and pleasant figure.
2) Using thinner outlines would prove to be a lot better.
3) I used lens flare when I got PShop some years ago, and thought it was pretty cool. And it is- except that with everyone knowing PShop and its tools nowadays, an unaltered lens flare like this actually look very cheap.
All said, keep experimenting and discovering!
