This is really good! I especially like the gangly sunflowers. ^_^ They add a lot to the emotion of the picture I think. It's very cheerful.
Lesse, crit- add more spark to your graphite drawings! More shading would add depth, so make the most of the tones between black and white as you can. Leave only the focus points (such as the the bard and children) with pure white tones. Make the backround duller, with the lowest parts such as the gravel and the shadows being the darkest.
The light source, shading and tone are perfect. Pull it out more to make it really shine.

Yeah, I know what you mean. For some reason that I don't understand at all, I seem to be allergic to contrast. I know that that's what makes art pop out, so I definitely need to work on that. A LOT.
