I'm not sure exactly what type of background you'd like (outdoors, indoors, any specifics), but I might suggest checking out magazines or photo books for reference? That helps me a lot in my b&w drawings.

Know what hun? I am not sure what kind of background I want either. 
But I honestly appreciate your help in this matter. I am definitely going to look through books for stuff. Want to know something embarrassing? I cannot draw a tree. >_< I'm serious. I have never been able to.
