hmm... if I recall correctly... I colored the background purple... then cheated once scanned and put in the white patterns to vary the background a bit

hey the cheating looks great. I think it makes it more interesting. It reminds me of those watercolor backgrounds for the sailor moon manga drawings. I think the artist used things like doilies to bleach out certain areas. It looks cool.
