The composition of this is beautiful, those huge waves frame the piece in a way that really focuses the eye on the dragons while also showing the kind of maelstrom they're dealing with. I feel like the lightning and Rift are competing with their luminescence, which is probably part of that problem- despite this, they go together splendidly, with the lighting drawing the eye down past the stryxes to her. One way you could reduce that competition would be to darken the waves, adding to the piece's overall contrast.
