Io basic portrait

Basic portrait of my favorite OC, Io my half-orc artificer.

Mad scientist. Too curious for his own good. Artificer who specializes in prosthetics.

A changeling or Half orc (depending on the game) artificer with curiosity that gets him into trouble. Io specializes in making prosthetics and power armor. Io was raised by his dad, a half-orc tailor named Rolt. Rolt was the royal tailor to the king, with Io learning tailoring skills and serving the royal family as his father’s apprentice. This put him in contact with the princess (goliath named Lysa) at an early age. The two became fast friends, and Io confided in Lysa that he was a changeling. They started using his power that Io could sit in on some of Lysa’s constant lessons to give her some freedom (think the prince and the pauper). Io would also sneak Lysa out of the palace for some adventures. Unfortunately they pushed it too far, and at the age of 23 Io’s identity as a changeling and his escapades with the princess were discovered. The king branded Io on the neck with an enchanted tattoo (remained no matter what form he took), and the changeling was banished from the city-state. Trouble followed Io in Greymere, a mining town far to the North, were conspiracies, a pact with a mysterious Voice to save a mentor’s life, and violent uprisings arose. To protect his friends, Io resorted to reviving corpses as artificeried golems known as the Reforged: limbs and much of their form replaced with the prosthetics and contraptions Io invited. Unfortunately their killer instinct was too much for him to control…

(I could write a ridiculous amount more, I am writing a book for Io haha. He is my favorite OC <3).
