This is another of the six pieces I've done for a project for conceptual illustration on Role Playing Games. This one is probably the most different from the other five because it is very graphic and iconic.
This symbol is based on Celtic knotwork and is meant to represent the brotherhood or teamwork aspect of role-playing games. My professor mentioned in class an idea for me to use for an illustration but it sounded to me too much like competition. I realised that RPG is rarely based around competing. It's about working together. In Final Fantasy you have a party of people that you meet along the way who help you achieve your goals in the game. In traditional table-top role playing games, such as Dungeons and Dragons, you aren't competing against the other people playing the game. But, instead, have to work together in order to get through the dungeon or slay the dragon.
Ummm- players working together if its conveniant to the charcter btw-
