I know what you mean. I've had that happen too where the traditional sketch has so much energy then when I got to ink/color it loses that energy.
I see you're new around these parts. Welcome to PaperDemon! Glad to see another new face.
Just an fyi we're planning to hold a Theme week event soon where artists all draw art based on a predefined theme. If you have any ideas on what we could do for it, feel free to post here. We're thinking the next one would be based on colors instead of a subject matter: http://www.paperdemon.com/forums/forum-art/4918_theme-week-for-2016/
Right it gives me it's true look. When I try digital, I lose something along with it. I'm not even sure what exactly ^^; also I would be able to submit more traditional pictures when it comes to portable devices.
One thing I sometimes like doing is putting a multiply layer on top of my pencils and colouring that instead like
. That way I get the colour and the sketch. Do you have a program that has layer blending modes in it? You could try that too. Photoshop and Manga Studio (modern)I know have it. Not sure about Sai, and other programs.
I was gonna say I have SAI, for layer/blend technique I usually make the sketch layer on multiply so a different layer could color right through. Yet again it requires a computer and internet to submit it if digital. Hope that answered your question~
Your submission is posted to our site but it hasn't yet been added to an Art RPG queue for point counting, approval, and/or reward redemption. Submit it to the queue to get your rewards.
