Boss Battle - Queen Queso: 1/2; a cheesy scheme - 342 words

Chapter 3: 1/2; a cheesy scheme - 342 words

1. Draw or write about your character fighting the boss!

"...so I distract her, and you can knock her out from behind after I've extracted the information."

The bright red sea slug turned his wobbly-looking eyes to the eternal beside him. Finley's expression radiated sheer disbelief, his mouth ajar.

"Me?" The slug double-checked, and pressed the fingertips of his dominant hand to his chest. Caspian gave him an almost neutral side eye, its edges humming with anticipation and curiosity - he saw nothing wrong with the plan. Finley pointed at Queen Queso on the near opening, the once so vibrantly green grass around her ablaze.

"Knocking out her?" The doctor finished, the last syllables worming their way out through gritted teeth. Both the slug and the eternal turned their gazes to the cheese-plastered battlefield, when something made the sound of an explosion. The Queen of Cheese cackled menacingly in the middle of the chaos, looking more loose than a lost screw. Caspian clicked his tongue as though he had to stop to reconsider - but then just blew a raspberry.

"Oh, she's fine," the eternal gestured carelessly with his hand. "Bigger baddies have gone down with less. Just go. Go go go." Caspian shooed Finley away, effectively forcing him to play along - for now.

The junk that could break one's line of sight was uncomfortably low around the messy opening in the middle of beautiful, Castimerian scenery. It had been reduced to a lowly plain of wasted food and bloodshed - and at this point, it just looked like a sheet of compost. For his misfortune, Finley had to crawl on all fours to stay out of sight. How had Caspian even gotten him here, anyway? The sea slug had seen with his own eyes how incompetent the oversized glow stick was with anything he decided to touch. It was a miracle that Aridin was still standing strong with its cities after all that... idiocy.

And still it was Finley who was crawling in the half-melted cheese and scraps of tacos. He really needed to learn how to talk to people - and to say no.

    I can't believe I didn't comment on this - I'm so sorry I've been so inactive!

Though I've reread the stories SO many times, and I absolutely adore it! Caspian's disregard for safety and almost... aloofness, combined with Finn's realistic and paranoid nature makes this perfect!

I adore how seamless and eloquent your writing is! Each sentence flows so well into the next, and I love these internal monologues!

Ugh, I'm gushing, but I love it! Thank you so much for including him!
