Tributes for Autumn: Triubute 1 Competition

"No way I am totally better Banana!" Said a haughty tyto annoyed. His eyes dilating as he glared at the shiny faced yellow beaked blue black corva. His feathers fluffed up.

"Oh but of course you'd say that Shiny Wings. Why don't we find someone to settle this? A witness. Or are you to chicken?" Banana face said cheekily. 

"Me?! Chicken?! Never Shiny face! Come on lets go find someone." He snapped and flew off in a huff. He made sure his companion was following not just pulling his tail again. He scoured the grounds for anyone. He'd show that shiny faced banana beaked annoyance he was in every way superior. Even if it cost him his dignity. Which is shouldn't. He landed in front of a raptor who clearly looked like he had nothing better to do. "Hey! Can you help us?" He said huffing.

The brown raptor stood and stretched looking at the two with his half black and half white face. The beast blinked sleep from its eyes. "Sure. What's up?" He yawned toothily. He stood onto his legs and stared at them. 

"Shiny Wings here thinks he can best me. So we need a judge for our silly little competition since he's so adamant about being right." Banana teased. "Though he is SO gonna lose!" She laughed.

The brown raptor shook his head. "How do I always get roped up in competitions?" He chuckled. "Alright. Names Hayard. Tell me what the competition is so I can judge fairly!" He said. "And so I can map out things if needed." He said.

"Banana Face. He won't tell me his so I call him Shiny Wings." She snickered.

"Har har." He said cooly.

"Alright alright what's this all about?" Hayard shook his head amused at the two. He found their little squabble endearing. Reminded him of Scian and his rider Feli. They often bickered cause of the cats incessant need to make friends with everyone... including those who wished to eat them. 

"Who can pose the best! I totally can and this Shiny Winged moron thinks he's better than me!" Banana Face huffed annoyed. "Think you can help us? Please?" 

"Hmm I can sure sit here and watch for as long as you need. My riders off with her other bird on some strange new adventure and who knows when they'll get back so sure. Let's go for it." Hayard said calmly.

"We need a better place for this. How about a darker spot?" Shiny wings said hinting to Hayard that this was not a pose contest but a shiny contest. Trickster the tyto was. He gave a wink when Banana Face was distracted by something else.

Hayard looked at the tyto shaking his head. He shrugged and padded off to find them a nice spot. He looked at the two bickering as they walked amused at their squabble over something so petty and silly. But he would judge. After all he was only here to help to birds out. 

"Here is good!" Shiny Wings said grinning. The spot was dark enough both gave enough illumination for the contest Banana Face had suggested. Hayard stretched then settled down to watch the two stretch out since the Tyto was going to play along with her. He smiled fondly at their antics.

"I am so gonna win Shiny Wings!" Banana Face snipped at him. 

"Oh please. You know I am so much better than you!" He snarked back. The amusement in his eye did give away he was only messing with her. Though she had looked away with her beak stuck in the air at the comment so she didn't get to see the look.

Banana Face looked over at him when he had looked away with the same look. "Alright pose time!" She said excited. 

"Yes yes. Please show me your best. And hold nothing back. I think as many as you can put in is a good idea." Hayard said and settled down after making himself a cozy sitting spot as this could take quite some time to complete. He watched the two. "We are gonna make this simple. Banana Face your first. Do a pose then Shiny you do a pose. Then so on and so forth until I decide that I am satisfied enough to give an answer on who I think is the better." He said calmly.

"Fine by me. Now lets have fun eh?" She winked and then began her pose. Once Hayard was satisfied with it he let Shiny Wings go then calmly repeated this for a good long time. He had to be thorough. Complete. And each pose did help him see who was shinier so both things worked for both birds. He found himself laughing at some expressions which helped ease many tensions.

After a long day of posing Hayard let them rest. He caught them some food to eat so they could nestle and wait for his deliberation. 

"So? Who won? Did I? Did I beat this shiny winged meanie?" Banana Face teased her rival.

"Or did I beat the shiny faced goof ball beside me?" Shiny said after swallowing his bite.

"Since you were being dishonest with her to begin with? She won the pose contest. However you won the shiny contest. So therefore your both winners. Now please enjoy the rest of your dinner before you leave. It was a very fun thing to watch. Your expressions in some of them were rather priceless." He laughed.

Both birds hid their faces in their wings. Embarrassment in their eyes. "Your to kind to a couple of bickering birds ya know?" Banana said sheepishly.

"Well I am fair and honest. I do like to help others therefore this was a welcomed change for the say. So please rest your bodies. You wore them out for sure with all the poses." He teased.

"Yes we did. I bet I'm more tired though!" Banana playfully snipped.

"Har har." Shiny Wings amusedly laughed.
