Chapter 1: Elemental.

“Rumor has it that there is a mysterious artifact hidden in the Forest of Order that can give the bearer great strength. Find it, and it’s yours.” A sign read out.

“That’s it? Just a leisurely stroll through the FoO?” Cooper said, overconfidently.

“Not all… there are some odd things happening there” the barkeep said, handing Cooper some ale. “Some dange-“

“Wait, lemme guess.”, Cooper interrupted. “Some big bad dude is roaming about. Ooh, or maybe a tribe of goblins!”

“Sir, the forest of order is no place to joke about nowadays.” Cooper leans on the bar table, oblivious to how splinter ridden the table is.

“Then tell me, Mr.Barkeep, whatever is happening in the forest?”

“Anomalies. Every now and then, a cloud of energy will appear. No one really knows what they do, but we have an idea of what they might be able to. Here, if you are planning on heading there, this’ll help.” The barkeep proceeds to take a piece of paper and write some notes on it. Cooper takes a swig of ale, slightly excited to find out what these anomalies can do. The barkeep hands the notes to Cooper, who snatches it out of his hands, before chugging the rest of the ale, tossing some cash into the mug the ale was in, and runs off.

“Thanks, man!”,Cooper yells. He tries to open the door that leads outside the tavern, but it’s stuck.

“It’s a push door, you idiot.” Cooper continues to kick open the door.

“Thaaaaanks~”

Outside the tavern is a large forest, surrounded by fencing, and ominous looking warnings. “It’s weird that there is just a bar in the middle ‘o nowhere, but who am I to complain.” He looks at the notes the barkeep wrote down for him as he walks through the fencing. The paper is extremely coarse and it seems to be an unfolded paper plane.

“There are four types of anomalies. The first ones are the spherical ones. They rip anything in the area apart and squeezes that together to make a sphere. You’ll be seeing a lot of floating spheres. There are two others that do the same thing, but turn the stuff into different shapes, the hexagonal ones, and the cubic ones. There is one you have to watch out for. The triangular ones. These take out anything in the ground and make these spikes out of them. We don’t know what’ll happen if you touch it, but let’s just say you’ll die.”

“Heh… ominous.” Cooper looks up from the paper and comes face to face with a floating hexagonal prism. It’s an odd thing, not what you would expect. It's devoid of any texture, smooth as anything can be. It doesn’t seem to cast a shadow, or give off any light. Cooper rolls up the paper with the notes on it, and touches the prism with it. Instantly, it disappears. No poof of smoke, no magic colors, just gone. The prism is a bit bigger now though.

“Hmm… I bet this has something to do with that artifact I read about on the sign. Guess I should follow them.” Cooper follows the trail of floating shapes, the area around them seemingly cut out with extreme precision. The farther he walked, the more frequent they became. Eventually, he got to see one form. Just like how the piece of paper disappeared, a spherical prism just popped into existence, cutting a hole around itself in a tree. He continues to walk, trying his best to eliminate the thought of one appearing next to, or worse, inside of him.

Spikes. 5 of them all pointing in the same direction. They are pitch black, absorbing any light they come into contact with. Cooper, not knowing what foreshadowing is, follows the direction they are facing. Soon, he encounters a path. A path of dead grass lined with spikes, like a fence. With no fear, Cooper walks through the path, doing his best to not touch the spikes. Eventually, he finds himself in a clearing, still lined by spikes, although they all seem to be pointing to the center of the clearing. Cooper, being the absolute numbskull that he is, disregards any sort of self preservation, and works his way to the center.

Surrounded by grass that has lost all color is a stone. A stone with an ominous symbol painted onto it with a deep red liquid. Cooper picks the stone up, expecting something to happen. Nothing. He then has the idea to touch the red on it. As soon as his fingertips touch the stone, he collapses onto the ground, unconscious. An hour passes, and he wakes up. Hundreds upon thousands of prisms hover above him, while spikes circle him, facing outwards. Wherever he focuses his eyes, the spikes instantly appear there. Overwhelmed by all this, he screams out, “What?!” Where once stood a plethora of shapes is now empty space. “How!?” Just as they disappeared, they came back, seemingly responding to those words. “What?” The prisms disappear. “How?” They reappear. Cooper crams the stone into his pocket as he says, “how?” As soon as they disappeared, Cooper ran as fast as he could out of the forest, looking for a safe place to rest.“Rumor has it that there is a mysterious artifact hidden in the Forest of Order that can give the bearer great strength. The story is good but seems to be in the chapter twice - it starts again from the beginning after it ends.
