When Kelnozz's race are hatched, they are both with two things, them and what is known to their kind a Heart Crystal.  When Kelnozz was born, his Heart Crystal was in two parts, for his life was destinyed to be two fold.  One to defend those he cares about, and two to defeat those who wish harm on those he cares about.  Growing up he was kept safe by the group dragons that helped the clutch stay safe, and all worried about this two part Heart Crystal, while he learned and played, they found that he was able to shape change very easily and typically took on the form of a humaniod dragon to blend in with some of the local village and city folks.  When he was not far from his age of being an of age to go off on his own, the local village was coming under attack by the area's raiding Orc hoards.  The village guards were over ran and Kelnozz was told to not interfer, but he couldn't standby and let his friends be hurt.  When this pull to help tug at him so hard, he was pulled to where his Heart Crystal was for some odd reason which confused him.  He looked at the Crystal as he reached out for it as it polymorphed into small pieces as it changed from the Crystal into a Tower Shield, and instantly gave him the knowledge of how to use this Shield.  With that knowledge he ran to the village even when the elder Dragons said no, to defend his friends from the invading Orc's using the shield like a skilled fighter in his humanoid form.  Fighting the Orc's off after a long hour battle, he was able to safe the villagers and with very few injuries to them.  He then learned that this was his calling.  To defend those that need it, and to keep the world safe!  When he went back to his hatch, they were upset with him but saw that he did good.  Their way of life was not to interfer with mortals, but to watch and be around.  They saw that his path was different and let him seek out where his path was to lead him.  Giving them a fair goodbye Kelnozz went off with his new Heart Crystal armor, that later found had so much more abilities for him to find out about!
