Personal Monthly Slots

You, as the player, can submit up to 3 Breeding Requests per month. These come from your primary monthly slots. You may use them to post full breedings, or host split breedings with another player. Career Breeders gain 1 additional monthly slot. All players may also participate in up to 2 breedings posted by others. These are your monthly splits.

Below is a graphic to explain your available monthly splits and fulls:

How to Breed

First, you must complete all TRIBUTES for your Stryx, and earn the Eye of Galyx trophy.
Once the trophy has been posted to your Stryx's Import sheet, you may breed.

Once you've decided which Stryx you want your own to be bred to, go to BREEDING REQUESTS and fill out the form.
You MUST have BREEDING APPROVAL from the owner(s) of each Stryx, if they are not your own.

Make certain BOTH parents have their Eye of Galyx!
An admin will roll a clutch and post genos in response to your request.

It is recommend that players save their slots to a tracker so as not to lose them.
It is your responsibility to make sure that your stryx has the slots needed to fulfill breeding requests.

Inbreeding & Infertility

Draco Stryx are particularly sensitive to the consequences of inbreeding.
If a pair of Stryx share the same parents, and/or grandparents, the following defects can occur...

Brittle Bone Syndrome
Crippled or Malformed Wings/Legs
Blindness
Stillbirth
Infertility

Infertility actually does not mean that a Stryx is not allowed to breed. Sometimes, an infertile Stryx is still capable of producing hatchlings, except that the chances are heavily stacked against it. If you wish to breed your infertile Stryx, please be aware that the chance of producing eggs is very small. Clutches will NOT be re-rolled.

If your Stryx has brittle bones or dysfunctional wings, they can not compete in Arena Battles or Races, and can not earn their Eye of Galyx (can not be bred). However, they can still be useful Scavengers and participate in Arena Shows.

General Slot Rules

  • Stryx must officially be in your ownership when you write a breeding approval.

  • All personal rules regarding usage of slot must be stated by owner in the approval during purchase, not after, and written in the slot itself in order to be enforceable. You may not write any rules outside of the perm itself.

  • Slots may be written in batches of up to 5 per comment. If you are writing out more than 5 slots to someone, you will need to post multiple batches.

  • Slots written out before a change in ownership must be honored, regardless of new owner's preferences.

  • Transfer of single slots must be done with owner's permission, and may be done by replying to the original comment.

  • Slots may not be written unless a stryx has its Eye of Galyx and slots written may not exceed the amount a stryx has for its current status. For example, you may not write permissions for more than five slots while your stryx is still Omega.

    • If you write out slots that exceed the amount of slots your stryx has available, you will lose an equivalent number of your future monthly breedings. For example, if you write two slots more than your stryx has available, you will only be allowed to submit one of your three monthly breedings the next time you post breeding requests.

  • No slot deals can be made if your Stryx is not ready to breed right away, unless they in exchange for Tributes so the Stryx can achieve its EoG.

  • You may not sell slots that your Stryx doesn't have. If you have reached your 5 slot limit for an Omega Stryx, you may not sell future slots for USD. You MAY, however, make deals for AP in order to get your Stryx to the next Ascension tier, so that more breeding slots will become available.

  • You may not write out slots to yourself. This is to prevent loophole abuse when transferring stryxes to new owners.

  • You may sell, trade, or give away breeding slots for whatever price you like, so long as your Stryx has its Eye of Galyx.

Allowed Personal Rules for Full Slots

These are the sorts of conditions you may place on full slots written out to other players.

  • No inbreeding allowed.

  • Restrictions on allowable partners (no Gryphs, no Nox, no Dom Snow, no Royal, no Runemarks, no Dom Galyx, etc.)

  • No resale of the slot.

  • No trading of the slot.

  • Tag the owner of the stryx when posting the slot in a Breeding Request.

Splits vs. Full Slots

  • For split slots, you must make ALL terms clear before the person pays money or trades goods for the slot. All of those terms MUST be written in the breeding rules. If your terms are that a certain type of geno must go to you, or something specific must be done with or to genos in the clutch, regardless of whether that geno does happen, the clutch must still be rolled as a split, and not a full.

  • Once you write a slot, you no longer have any control over the resulting clutch, except in the case of split slots. In full slots, you may not request an admin to decease or alter the geno of any clutch result (i.e. asking for a dominant marking to be changed to recessive.) You may not request that any of the genos be transferred to you if a slot is written as a full. You may not request any of the genos be transferred to another user or to the loft if it is written as a full. You may request these things if the slot is a split.

  • If we catch people trying to cheat this system by "gifting" partial or full clutches to someone who wrote them slots, you will run the risk of being suspended from breeding all-together for a probationary period of time. If we catch people selling slots with under the table rules that are not legal, you will run the risk of being suspended from breeding. Repeat offenses could lead to being banned from the group, so please be honest and follow the rules. Breeding limitations are in place to make sure the value of your Stryx are not driven into the ground, and to make sure people are making good breeding choices.

"Unlimited Slots"

  • "Unlimited slots" including “unlimited until x” may no longer be written to any stryx as of May 6, 2018. Unlimited slots written prior to that date will be honored until the end of the December 2018.

  • Transfers of "unlimited usage" slots are not permitted. (As all unlimited slots are now defunct, this rule is moot.)

Deceasing & Bans

  • If a stryx has been deceased, no more slots may be written out to it. All slots written out prior to the date of deceasing, however, will still be valid and may be rolled as normal.

  • If a player writes out a split slot to their stryx and is subsequently banned before the slot holder posts the breeding, that slot will be automatically upgraded to a full slot, as the banned player can no longer participate in breedings.
