Lust Sketch

It's all done.  There's some wolfsbane flower/poison in the bottom corner, but the oval frame cut it out rather a lot.

I think I'm going to have to make Wrath a little more accurate, too.  Although the paintings will have little pictures and textures in the oval surrounding area, this is just a colour concept.

The rose vines are symbolic of lust's outer beauty, but when you reach for it, it pricks you.

Again - thank you all for your ideas and suggestions.  I didn't hear a single bad idea from anyone.

    its superb dah'ling!!
I agree, do the "framing" technique with wrath just as a test. See if she turns out to be as "resolved" as this image, thank you Alan Brandoli (snicker)
    • Sep 18, 2006, 3:49:58 PM UTC
Oh, she's not nearly as 'resolved' as this image - but she's not a painting yet. I wasn't quite as excited when I was doing Wrath as I was doing Lust.

We'll see how I feel tonight. Righ tnow I don't really want to bother with the Wrathiness. I actually really want to sleep - and I need to phone you when you get home, luv.

I take it your internet is back at work, then?

Thanks, luv! I'm glad she's been so well-received. Now it's the schoolweek again, and it looks like a homework-heavy one... I should be back with more Sin on the weekend, though. Wink

These are all colour sketches for a painting series I'm preparing to make, just for me. Wink

I'm designing them so they can hang side by side down a hallway - all Seven Sins. It should end up looking like a group of family portraits, only more dynamic.

These will all eventually be done in acrylics on hardboard - I will post them when I'm finished painting.

Glad you like them! It's been a looong time since I did a project like this just for me.
