Wrath Sketch - WIP2

Posted Sep 12, 2006, 5:03:53 PM UTC
This is the first of seven colour sketches I intend to do for a project I've set upon myself - the Seven Deadly Sins.  I know - it's been done many many times before, but they're such a fun project!  And hopefully when I'm done I will still be up to drawing their counterparts - the Seven Virtues.

This is the sketch for Wrath, or Anger, as many will know her.  These will all be coloured as per colour meaning, and each will have its own symbol - whether hidden in the painting or blatantly obvious.  I intend to make these somewhat like tarot cards when it comes to being jam-packed full of symbolism...  But that might not turn out.  I will have to find out.  Having fun so far, though.  :D

Wow, lookin good so far, Minimaid. Smile I remember doing a roleplay with the Seven Deadly Sins. I did tons of research on them, too. Sweat Drop They were pretty interesting. The Seven Virtues? What? Wow, never heard of them. *google time*

Anywhoo, nice work-in-progress. Big Smile I await its completion.

You did research? Dude, could you PM me with any symbolism that you know on the seven deadly sins? (Especially wrath.. I'm having troubles finding good wrath symbols)

The Seven virtues are the sins' counterparts. Bravery, Honesty, Humility, Fidelity, Charity, Purity, and Dilligence.

      Thanks for your comment! Heart

Sure thing, dude. I'll tell you everything I know, and give you some great reference sites and everything. I'm awesome like that. Laughing It's the least I can do. After all, you're letting me use you for Super Mod, which I'm going to be typing up Chapter one of any day now. School's been slowing me down like nobody's business, but I'm not giving up, I swear!

*grin* I know all about being slowed down. If it weren't for school, I'd be on sin#4 at least, by now. Ah well, I'm still enthusiastic about this. Thanks SO much for all that info, by the way, it's helping a lot for giving me ideas!

I'm glad to hear that not only am I not alone in being slowed thanks to school, but that I was able to help. You're welcome. Big Smile

So far my darling Minimaid, i likes it. Are you planning on useing only reds and blacks? Because you said that they would be coloured as per meaning. I wouldn't mind seeing them all analogous, but it might be tougher to stray from blendage.
As for the Tarot cardesque idea Im all for it, did i ever tell you i wanted to make my own deck!? Oooooo so challanging!

anyways thought i might ask you some things...

*gasp* there is no kiss emoticon!!!! oh well tah tah dahling!

Not really just reds and blacks, no. I want to use MOSTLY reds and blacks for this one, but certainly not exclusively. I am going to use my normal painting style - dominant colour scheme, but a little bit of anything necessary. Wink That was a very good dodge of the original question, if I do say so myself.

You did tell me. I think every artist has that ambition - or at least a similar one. I think I've done enough with Jon's Pin-up deck. No more cards for me! Grin

Gonna upload this baby again tomorrow when I get home. Right now I need to go to bed. Early day tomorrows.

      Love! Heart
