A handshake. A smile. A hope for a well-fought match. That was the feeling Finley expected for his last two opponents, yet he was overwhelmed with a sense of dread and fear from both Aeris and Ghost-Eye. But Evan? This was the opponent he desperately wanted all along! As he shook the avian's hand, he held hope that this was going to be a good, clean match. It might even be fun!
...So when the arena started to crumble around them, cavernous maws in the ground opening up to pools of lava, whilst gusts of winds created obscuring dust clouds? That sense of fear returned. Not only for his own well-being, but his opponent too. The earth shook, and with the falling rocks crashing to the ground, they became seperated. Finley cared little about winning, but instead ran head-first into the encroaching disasters to find Evan!
Hearing a yell, Finley found Evan pinned to the ground. A slab of rock crushing the man's wing. He desperately tugged, and the two locked eyes for a second, before the ground began to tilt. It cracked. It splintered. Evan cried out as he fell backwards into the lava, reaching out desperately with painsearing through his winged limb.
The slug threw himself forward, almost toppling over the edge of the cliff himself. He grabbed Evan's hand with his own, and squeezed as hard as he could, "I've got you, just hold on!!"

FINAL ROUND, BABYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!
For this one, I decided to do a continuation of Ace's piece, found here!; https://www.paperdemon.com/app/art/view/56381
Finally a round where he doesn't face someone ready to tear him to shreds! Thank god the environment is going to do that for him instead. For this one, I wanted to kep hold of the sportsmanship between the two - going off Ace's entry! Both of them are caught within the throes of peril, and even though Finley could have won by letting Evan fall, he could never live with himself if he did! Risking his own life to save Evan's, and risking the tournament as a whole.
I'm sad I didn't manage to properly convey Evan's damaged wing in this piece - in my head, the flow of gravity meant that it would act similar to a normal wing, and I couldn't find any good references for this sorta thing? Ah well! I hope it's an enjoyable piece regardless! Plus, with the first panel, it really made me work on my perspective, and was super satisfying to do. :3c
This OCL has been such a wild ride! Seeing everyone's incredible pieces has really inspired me, and seing the community responses to each entry has warmed my heart! Everyone has put their all into it, and I'm honoured to have been given the chance to take part! I wish everyone the best of luck for the final results!!! You're all the best <3
