[#38] Family

Finley never knew his mother, she was always absent in his life. The first time he had asked, his father said she had went missing. That she simply left not long after he was born, and didn't return. He was always quiet when talking about her, a sad look in his eyes, but memories of her still brought a quiet smile to his face. She was a courageous woman, with a strong heart and an iron will. He never knew why she left, and Finley eventually learned to stop asking questions.

His father... well, Finley was only a young teenager when he passed. Fell to a mysterious illness, and it was so sudden that his entire world came crashing down. The massive inheritence that came with his death could never fill the gaping hole it left. As Finley grew up, he cherished each and every memory he had. Walking along the beach, taking boat rides, exploring forests, sitting by the fire as his father read him a book... even now, those memories refuse to fade. He thinks about him every day, and despite that he's no longer with this world, he still travels to make him proud.

Family? haha did you mean angst? Fin doesn't really have family left, other than his faithful bookwyrm companion. But despite that, he still travels with a smile on his face and a hope in his heart! I was going to sake this bookmark for a future date, but I got too impatient, and was really in the mood to draw his dad today. I'm sad he'll never be a character, because I like the design I doodled up! Oh well!
