Liminal Heat

In the early days of Liminal Travel, it wasn't understood the dangers of exposure so early flights with just pilots ended up in a lot of exposure to them. It seems however that Pilots are resistant to the radiation Liminal Space produces. They aren't immune but they can be exposed to more than the average human.

Benedict had always described it as a kind of "Heat" compared to the normal universe. Like he reached beneath an ice cold surface of water and beneath was a volcanic vent. The heat never bothered him, even as he stared the roiling abyss down. He never wanted to stop reaching out into that wellspring of heat, grasping and pulling himself and the vessels he guided into it's terrifying depths.
