Brief biography: Jo is a survivor of an apocalypse AU, in a real world scenario of "what if en eldritch detonation slagged her home city and she had to struggle to survive not only strange and unforgiving environs, but her own, changing internal world?" She's a fierce young woman with determination in bucketloads, but she is paranoid and a bit of a scrungly personality.

In her own story, Jo and her BFF, a timid wallflower of a young man named Ryan, have to survive not only their wintery, eldritch environs, but their own degrading relationship. What's it mean to grow into yourself when that self is not who you thought you'd be? What if it means changing into something monstrous? What if it's the bad end?

In so far as adventuring goes, she's a steller marksman, physically fit, perceptive and active. Her flaws cause her to second-guess others, disregard them and distrust them. Her internal eldritch horrors reside in the back of her mind, pushing her towards worse paranoia and debilitating distrust.

Occasionally, but only VERY occasionally, her passengers are visible to the naked eye: bits of hair wrapped into the shape of spiders hiding in her hair, blinking unseeing, unnerving eyes at those they are trying to turn Jo against. They aren't friends, they can't be tamed, and they're only likely to get worse. If you've seen or read the Annihilation series, Jo's world is a little like that. The consequences for giving in to the pressures around her might be deadly... and then again, they might be far worse.
