Shibori

Name: Shibori  (しぼり / 絞り)  

Species: Nekomata  

Age: 200(ish) 

Backstory: Named after a Japanese manual resist dying technique for fabric, because of her calico patterned fur.

Shibori was the only long tailed kitten in a litter of bob-tailed calicos. She was adopted by the peasant girl Suki, who adamantly refused to let anyone chop off her new kitten's tail. This was usually done to a long tailed cat to prevent it becoming a demon. 

For the next ten years Shibori lived as a beloved pet cat, perhaps a bit larger than average but nothing extraordinary. Then on Suki's 16th birthday, the local lord Hizen declared the now beautiful young woman was to be his newest concubine, and sent his vassal Ito Soda to collect the maid.  Suki was less than enthused and attempted to run away.  Shibori immediately leaped to defend her mistress, only to see Suki take an arrow in the chest, as the samurai shot at the massive cat charging towards him.  
As you can imagine, bad things promptly ensued.
Shibori is now a full Youkai (demon). She looks upon humans with contempt, seeing them as deceitful and cruel.   

Appearance:  Usually appears as an Oriental female human 18-20 years old with calico cat ears and tails or a demonic calico cat nearly the size of a lion, with large glowing green eyes. Tail is split in two 1/2 of the way along it's length.  She is a shapeshifter however, and can take the form of any dead person, demon, or animal she has touched.

Personality:  Outgoing, curious, and confident, but also proud and vengeful.  She tends to have a nasty vindictive streak if she feels she has been wronged . 

Education: Literate, Maiko training in music, dance, poetry and art.

Weapons: Deer-horn knives, hook swords, pole sword 

Fighting Style: Wushu, a style that emphasizes quickness, explosive power, and natural, relaxed movement.  She also uses necromantic and fire summoning magicks.
