Eryk's new elemental earth powers prove to be quite convenient when obtaining his next test subjects. After all, who needs a shovel when you can split the graveyard grounds at your will?
As Eryk got thrown into this new reality, he immediately sprung to work, analyzing and coming up with the best formulas to store magic. Eventually, he came up with condensing his most powerful spells into liquid and holding those in vials in his toolbelt. Whenever he wishes to use one of them, he takes his "lucky charm" syringe (his talisman) and injects portions of those liquids into the target. For example, as in this illustration, he can inject the soil with a spell, and the ground will split up before him, revealing the treasure that he's after - corpses he can use for further experimentation. While powerful, this means having to prepare beforehand as well as being in direct contact with the target - of course, there are ways around it, Eryk can use his powers by distance, but they come nowhere as close in strength as those passed through injections. In addition, liquid spells are extremely potent, and if not careful, a leaking vial or too big of a dose can lead to disasters.
