Biweekly - Regret

Primrose's biggest mistake was trusting a teenaged human that wondered into their forest when they were also a teen. 

Prim approached this human with kindness and curiousness, and he was at first terrified but as soon as he calmed down the two started to get along and gain a friendship. After a month of the two bonding with the human visiting Prim every day, they got to know each other pretty well and even Prim started to feel new feelings towards this human, they also showed them their powers. He finally showed his real self and sadly it wasn’t as kind as Prim first thought they were, he wanted to trap Primrose and their mother and use their powers for his own selfish needs. Fear filling Prims mind they went to run away and hide but this only made the human attack them with their pocketknife scratching their right arm, this caused Prim to let out a yell of pain and their mother hearing and rushing over to protect them. The human and their mother fought each other for a good while and Prim's mother was even winning with Prim watching from behind a giant plant panicking about their mother. It wasn’t until the human got closer to Prim’s location the mother started to panic and lead to the human taking the opportunity to strike her in the chest with the pocketknife and then fleeing from the scene of the crime. Only a haunting scream came from Primrose as they witnessed this, they rushed up in panic holding their mother close who has now at this point fallen to their knees. As they held her close the forest around them both became ablaze, the human has set the forest on fire as they fled. Both now panicking over this their mother now told them to go try to contain the fire as much as they can and save as much animals as they could, Primrose didnt want to leave her however it was only when their mother promised she would be alright that they did leave to save the forest and animals.
 
When they returned, the fire having now gone out and they saved all the animals they could, they only found their mother still on the ground. Prim walked up and told her the good news that no animals were hurt but panic only crept in when there was no answer... Prim sat down next to their mother and took their hand to their cheek fighting back their tears as they said her name. When there were still no answers, they broke down sobbing "Mama... I'm sorry.... Please don’t leave me..." 
 
Prim sat by their mother holding onto her tightly sobbing until there was no tears for them to give. After hours of holding her close they finally get up, taking their mothers coat wrapping it around their shoulder holding onto it tightly as they give their mother one last kiss on the cheek then walked into the forest. 
Today there lays the most beautiful tree in Primrose’s forest, that has a bolder at the bottom with their mothers name carved on it. They have decorated it with all types of gifts over many years of things their mother loved, ranging from drawings, flowers, charms and even a few plush toys. Primrose has never forgotten her and made a vow to protect this forest and all the animals inside it and never have history repeat itself.
