Silvyr (Mordel)'s greatest enemy in his story is the currently un named King Senoir- in the story, the King Senior married into the royal family of Phauroraland, and whittled down the defences of the country, finding allies and weaknesses in the country's defences in secret. He retired to get his son to take over his job now that he was an elderly man, only to find his son marry a man with a high moral compass, and undo his work. Desperate to get a foothold back into the royal family again, Mordel was set to marry the princess and continue the dilution of thier government, till Mordel decided he didn't want to do it anymore. The traitor spends the story trying to swing Mordel back to the cause no matter the cost.
