Backstory:

It's still a heavy work in progress, but to sum it up..

He was born in a dungeon, in secret. But some dragon, named Virazyde, hated his mother, and decided to take it out on him. She told Atamyre, a dungeon guard, to cut off his wings, but a horrified Atamyre disagreed. As he held dragonet Soul, named Solanic back then, the little thing trilled. Apparently, holding him was pretty ticklish to the little dragonet. Tears welled up in the guard's eyes, as he roared that it wasn't right. No dragon deserved this, especially an innocent dragonet, who hasn't done anything to Virazyde. Said dragon hissed at the dungeon guard and did the deed herself, making Solanic cry out in pain. She ran out the dungeon right afterward, flying to somewhere in the town, as poor Atamyre was left to deal with everything. He clutched the dragonet and roared for the medics to come. Sometime later, as Solanic was being bandaged up, his mother, Rexirrei, was told the horrible news. She was let out her cell, after demands and a few scratches to see her son. Ever since then, Solanic was deemed a crippled dragon, and was left out of friend groups and activities. It hurt tons. Several years later, he found himself ducking behind his mother as she fended off her mate, Brudynn, who was affected by [a plague that made him go insane? I dunno, like I said, this is a WIP]. She handed him her guitar earring, the other part belonging to Brudynn. Then, she pushed her only dragonet through a portal, with a teary goodbye. [Portal? Why is there a portal? Well, these dragons like to visit other worlds and predict the future of it by looking at the stars there. If something bad is going to happen, they'll try to stop it. If they go through it though, they'll lose their memories. It's for protection reasons, as they were almost hunted to extinction once. Also, they'll get forcefully shifted to their humanoid form. How do they get back? Well, when the portal reopens, they'll get a strong urge to go back to it and go through it, turning back into a dragon again.] Solanic, now called Soul, as he forgot his old name, found himself meeting a peculiar 'human', named Pico.

Now all of the above is his canon backstory, but in this alternate timeline, instead of ending up at the place where he meets Pico, he gets sent to the Paperverse. Oh wait, that means he doesn't get to meet the love of his life. Welp.

Extras:

- Loves fish, especially salmon

- Also loves writing, and has a journal of his

- Has the random urges/longings to fly sometimes, stemming from the fact that he once had wings. He could've flown, just for a little...

- Has two forms that he can switch between. Dragon and humanoid. Only his humanoid form has a reference sheet in the making, though he's been featured in his dragon form in my fully-rendered drawings

- Stutters often, bad at words

- Easily flustered

- He can breathe fire, and there are two types. A blast, where it explodes on impact. Used for long-range. And your normal fire breathe, short-range

- His full reference sheet of his humanoid form isn't done yet, so have a part of it.

- Normally the species can't transform between both forms freely, but Soul is a special case here. If in a severe emergency, A member of the species [who has traveled to other worlds, through a portal they have at their hometown] can shift to their dragon form, and after the event, they'll regain their memories either slowly or quickly, depending on how long they've been in that world.
