Lost and Found

I'm on a roll! I also have corona so I'm in isolation... But that gives me loads of time to draw! So here I go, making another drawing of my (hopefully soon-to-be) Aqrion exploring a cavern that may or may not be a home he himself grew up in, in this life or the past (who know, maybe the next?).

------ Little story I made up for this moment. Hella dyslectic and Dutch-y but EH I tried to drabble a little :D ------

So, this was the place that sparked your memory? Her voice floating out into the ocean from her coms sounded odd and distorted, but they were easily understood by her companion. His eyes, the pupils barely visible in the dark sockets, darted around the cavern. He placed his two paws on the stones beneath them, then let his fingers run through the weeds.

‘I’m not sure what I remember. I’m not even sure if the memories are mine to have and hold.’ He thought out loud. His voice was different underwater then above. The vibrations deeper, the tone softer. Somehow his voice was warmer below then above. He was meant to be here, it resided deep in his core, Dallas saw that now.

It might be a memory from a home. A home you’ve lived before? Dallas suggested.

Ori shook his head slowly, the water restricting fast movement from the big creature. ‘No.’ He said, his tone suddenly harsh. ‘The palace is my home. This is just a memory from before this life, mine or someone else’s. But it’s not my home.’

Dallas, who was buoyancing close to her companions side, put a reassuring hand on his shining scales. They caught the light and reflected it with added shimmer. It was like his very skin rejected it, radiating the energy outwards. I’m sure we figure out what your history is, love. She said while stroking the scales one by one, her hand the size of two of his scales.

Ori looked over his shoulder and smiled. ‘At some point, maybe.’ He was quiet for a bit and then added ‘I’m glad we took this dive, though.’ His eyes held a bit more peace, he confirmed a sort-of-memory, and that was enough for today.

Dallas smiled at him and as it was difficult to see through her tainted breathing mask she said I’m glad we did this too kid.

The way you blacked out the distant fish helps focus the piece on the characters, while also balancing out the amount of white from his scales, nice! The theme of "home" shows well in the drawn half of this as well as the written- Ori looks like he belongs in the area, he meshes with the environment quite well.
