Landscape Studies, Canyon

It looks like I'm finally posting some recent stuff, haha. I went on hiatus from art for a few months (it was during one of my absent spells from here, whoops) because of some irl stuff and a change in focus, but as a part of that other project, I finally began on something I've been pushing off for ages- landscape practice. I'm mostly about character art, but I have been noticing my landscaping in my pieces have been subpar to my standards, as in not well thought out or just... not as interesting as they could be. So, as I am in a wonky place with art, I decided to post these sketches so I could see my progress and as well as to have something for my followers to look at if interested.

As the first of the series, I probably had the most difficulty with this one. I spent most of the time making this looking between it and my references, but it served to break the ice, so progress. I didn't bother with shading or tree detail because those are things I already and fine at.

Art belongs to me.

Thanks! Getting scale and such down can be tricky, but trees are helpful in that regards Smile

I thought this was a watercolour for a moment! the colours blend really nicely like watercolours. Also, you certainly got the grand scales for landscapes down!
