The Stiergeier

When browsing the web one day, I stumbled across a photo of a Lammergeier, also known as the "bone-eater" or "bearded Vulture" they were amazingly impressive looking birds! I knew I had to design a creature based on that!

While I was at Anime Expo 2016, I had some commission-free time, and decided I wanted to make a gryphon or a draco-gryph or something of the like, and the idea popped into my head to use the Lammergeier as a base.

So this is my Stiergeier! Where "Lammergeier" means "Lamb vulture" ... for the misunderstanding that the birds would take off with entire lambs. my creation is the Stiergeier, or "Bull Vulture".... I'm sure you can figure out where I'm going with this. XD

This was done on 9x12 Bristol Paper with Copic Markers and Multiliners

This is incredible. Very well done. The musculature of the leggs looks great. I've shared this on our twitter and facebook pages.

Great looking creature, I really enjoy how you went about with the beak, it's different and nice Smile The detail on it's neck is also great, it adds dimension to it ass well as variance in color.
