      Thanks! Smile I'm not used to using charcoal a lot, so I'm glad this one came out ok. And yes. It was just on a page of a white-paper sketchpad.

        So all the color is introduced with just chalk? Neat! ^^ I like how you did it. It looks very natural, I wasn't sure if the chalk was the color or the white!

          Yep, all the reddish bits are chalk-based. The white is part background and part chalk, actually. Smile The white stripe on the shield behind her is background showing through, but parts of her hair and face were touched up with a second layer of chalk for better contrast after I had the first layer shaded and sealed. Smile
