Burning Hands - DnDAU

Posted Oct 13, 2011, 10:38:35 PM UTC

I had a bit of free time in between emails with clients today so I did more DnD artwork.

I don't know how to draw fire, so that's something I need to work on.

A group of the TF2RPers have started a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, which I'm really enjoying, even though this is a whole new level of nerd-dom for me. Not complaining though, I used to be so big into fantasy stories when I was a youngin' so this is nostalgic for me.

Very clean, nice style! I find the way you shade very interesting, it comes out different and amazing. It really gives your art depth and more sense of lightness and darkness.

This is fantastic! And that fire - wow.

Thank you very much~ I find I do a lot better with this sort of style over trying to mimic a more paintery one.

Ahh, I still need to practice with fire. It's not something I'm used to drawing lol.

Fancy cell shading here, and the style is neat, the only thing I would do otherwise, is the fire. (but you mentioned that you are only leaning to do it Wink ) so - your fire looks very pale - usually fire has high saturation and contrast, casts strong shadows and hightlights.

Thanks~ Yeah, fire is a very new element for me, and I should have studied it a bit more before proceeding. Thankfully I still have the file in layers so I can go in and fix it once I'm more comfortable drawing fire XD
