Mind if I ask how you go about making a picture? Do you start off sketching your subject? Or do you go straight into final lines? This is for critique Smile

I don't mind at all. I normally start sketching

So going straight to final lines? Gotcha. Mind if I suggest trying out another method? Most professional artists, and specially animators will suggest breaking your subject down into simple shapes. This isn't for pointless lines and what not- these building blocks are a powerful form of visualization. They do a few things to make art easier for you-

1- Simplify the image. Specially important with realistic pictures. IF you can simplify a 3D object into a shape you can easily draw to look 3D (cylinders, cubes and spheres), then you can do complex angles alot easier.

2- The simplified way of drawing means you lay out the picture fast. Specially with complex layouts. I normally do scribbles for mine and flesh out the faces. [thumb27056]

3- Lastly, simplifying to shapes does this cool thing where you can visualize what a character looks like minus hair, clothes, and other complications, so when you put the complications on, you know what's underneath them, and can mold the hair, fur or clothing to sit on the creature, and not loose the initial integrity of the creature's shape.

IT's... a handy tool for drawing. Right now the head of your fox is an over all shape of an oblong, when normally they're closer to spheres. I suggest finding a picture of a fox, and try drawing it using only circles. See if you can make it's basis shape. Once you're familier with drawing a fox head, then try super deforming it to a cartoon. I think you'll find that the results turn out really nicely Smile

I hope this helps! Sorry if it was tl:dr T.T I can ramble sometimes >.>

^.^ Thank you for the help. I try that method sometimes but it doesn't come out that well sometimes. I don't mind the rambling sometimes that can be useful information.
