Balancing Illness

My major work. Had to be taken by photo. Bad quality because my carmera is horrible. Thougt up and planned in 2006 completed in 2008. It' themed around mine and mum's relationship. The girl in the middle is Libra. She is holding everything in balance. On the left side is darkness. Not smiling but not sad. On the right is light, same thing. The are in balance and content. In the background are bits and pieces to represent things that most influenced me. Such as:

fantasy
depression
Star signs (Dragon zodiac. Both me and mum are in the year of the Dragon)
happyness
There's an angel symbolising mum for being happy everyday alought she suffers chronic pain and for the people who have passed.

That's all the important ones. Enjoy ^_^

Also it was done in charcoal and white chalk and finer balck lines were done in felt tiped black pens

Absolutely stunning for a high school piece. You definitely proved that teacher wrong. I wonder if he even got Half of what's actually going on in this picture.

This is the one.....not that others aren't rendered better but the sheer ambition of the piece is staggering. I also love the composition.

  Thank you ^_^ I appreciate it. It would have been better if I wasn't being rushed by my teachers, who then complained that I finished to soon and now it looked rushed -_-
