WinterDragon (holly)

Something brand new!

I just finished this dragon plaque.  It was a commission; I've done several "seasonal" dragons & my patron only needed Winter to complete her collection.

The holly berries are made of 8mm carnelian beads (I used the same beads for the dragon's eyes).  The whole piece is about 20 inches in diameter.

Leather sculpture, painted with liquitex acrylics & accented with carnelian stone beads.

      Thanks! :-)

The dragon plaques are expensive because of all the time I put into them...all those leaves take forever to make. This one was purchased for 300.00, & was actually one of my less expensive plaques.

Wow- that's $300 in what currency? I still think it's worth it. THis is a beautiful peice. I'd be VERY wary of shipping something like that as far as New Zealand though. I got Ash Evans to make me an my friend a dragon statue each and we were very lucky that it came with minor damage even with the amount of packaging she used. The freight people are very rough Sad

          That's 300 in US dollars.

I send a lot of my work overseas. So far no problems...leather sculpture is pretty resilient & so breakage isn't much of a worry. I use plenty of tape & bubble wrap, just in case.

Hilariously, things that I send to Japan arrive twice as fast as things I send to Canada, and I'm only ten miles from the Can/US border.

            More priority onthier post? *shrug*

Currently saving up for two MAJOR trips and computer up grade, an new tv, but when I have more cash, I'd love to buy a sculpture like this. Donno if the exchange rate will be as good as it is now then, but you have a fan in me!! Big Smile

This is really awesome! Even the picture of it caught my eye, so the real thing would draw tons of attention. Great job.

Thank you. The client wanted all those holly leaves to have white edges...who knew they'd create such a striking effect? I like the way the design pops because of those leaves. Happy accident.
