Rules About Posting Artwork, Writing, and Comics
Nudity and other Mature content
Nudity, erotic artwork, and sexually explicit content IS allowed
in the Red Curtain side of PaperDemon.com as long as it is artful. This means if it is perceived that the works only intention is to arouse the viewer, then it is not art and does not belong in our galleries. If the artwork contains mild nudity it is acceptable
in the PaperDemon side. However, if it is nudity in a sexual context it
is your responsibility to mark
it as mature when
posting the artwork and placed in the appropriate galleries. If your entry contains sexually explicit
material (ie close ups of aroused genetalia or views of penetration) it
is your responsibility to label it mature and place it in the Sexually
Explicit Content gallery. For more information on what is considered mature, please
view this help file.
Shota and Loli artwork depicting pre-pubescent/pubescent minors in sexual situations is NOT allowed. Post-pubescent Shota and Loli is allowed but must be placed in the appropriate Shotacon or Lolicon galleries. However, it cannot appear photoreal or appear to have been based on a photograph of a nude minor. The minors must portray signs that they've gone through puberty such as hair on the genitals, formed breasts, muscle tone, hips, etc. Depictions of pre-pubescent/pubescent minors in sexy/suggestive poses in the nude/semi-nude is also not permitted. Depictions of minors in the nude in innocent poses is permitted but must not be placed in the Red Curtain side because we do not want these images in the context of other sexual images in the Red Curtain. Depictions of chibis in sexual situations is not allowed.
Yaoi artwork, comics, and writing are acceptable but if it is explicit,
it should be marked
as mature. In addition, yaoi/shounen-ai content must be placed in the appropriate galleries/libraries.
Lemons (erotic writing) are allowed but must be properly labeled
as mature and placed in the appropriate libraries.
All artwork, comics, and writing must be placed in the proper art galleries and writing
galleries. This helps to keep the site better organized and for the effectiveness of site filters.
Necrophilia is not allowed anywhere on our site. We characterize necrophilia as an unmoving corpse or a zombie like creature in sexual situations. Zombie-like characteristics are exposed innards, rotting flesh, and exposed bones. However, we do allow other undead and animate creatures such as ghosts and vampires.
Bestiality is not allowed anywhere on our site. We consider bestiality to be animals in sexual situations.
Yiffy and Anthropomorphic art is welcome on our site. If your anthro art contains furries in sexual situations, nude poses, or sexually suggestive poses, the artwork must be labeled as mature and placed in the Yiffy gallery.
Scat/Coprophilia and Urolagnia, meaning sexual situations involving feces or urine is not allowed anywhere on our site.
Posting someone elses work
If you post artwork or writing that isn't your own and claim it as your own
work that is called Plagiarism. If you plagiarize another
person's work, we will roast you, toast you, and burn you to a crisp!
If you are caught plagiarizing another
artist's/author's work, we will publicly display your email address, ip address,
and other personal information in our Hall
of Shame and suffer public humiliation.
You also may not post someone elses artwork in the Art, Comics, and Writing section
even though you aren't claiming it as your own work. Only
post artwork, comics, and writing that is your own work.
You are required to credit another artist/author in the case of a
collaboration. For example,
if you took someone else's line art and colored it,
you are allowed to post it so long as you have their permission to do so and
you credit the original artist. If that artist is NOT a member of PaperDemon.com,
please put a link to the artist's online gallery or their email address
within the description of the artwork. If the original artist IS a member of
PaperDemon.com, you can credit them by clicking "Edit Artists" in
your Artwork Folder after having posted the artwork.
Other rules about posting artwork and writing
Comics and other Sequential artwork belong in the Comics section and not in the Art Gallery. However, if your comic is only one page, it is acceptable to post it in the Art Gallery rather than in the Comics section. If you have a Work-in-progress page that you'd like to post to get feedback it is preferred that you post your work-in-progress comic artwork in the Art Gallery and then post the finished pages in the Comics section.
Don't post collages of artwork that are not your own in the
art galleries. The only acception to this rule is sprite comics in the Comics section. Sprite comics are only permitted in the Comics section and not in the Art Gallery.
We do accept 3D digital artwork. However, artwork created with 3D generation programs such as Poser, DAZ, and Terragen must be placed in the Digital 3D (Generated) gallery and not placed in the Digital 3D gallery. Poser and DAZ work cannot just be a picture of a model. The model must be modified, posed, and in a setting to create a full composition. Otherwise your submission may be removed. If the models or packages you used are not in the public domain or not royalty free, please credit the artist/company that created the packages. If your 3D submission was modeled from scratch, please instead place your submission in the Digital 3D gallery. You are not subject to the same restrictions as the generated artwork submissions.
Your artwork and comic submissions must be presentable. Meaning, do
not post poor reproductions of your artwork. If an attempt is not made
to display an artwork in the best manner possible there is no point in
displaying it in the first place. Do not post out of focus, crooked, extremely
small, low contrast, or pixelated images of your art. Do not post photoshop (or other
program) screenshots of your work either. We want to see your artwork,
not your program. Please also crop out any unnecessary white space. We also do not allow artwork drawn on lined paper in the Finished Gallery, distracting watermarks, rings/holes from sketchbooks, and illegible text. If you are posting a comic submission, your comic must have presentable cover art. Posting the first page of your comic as your cover is not acceptable. See our Common Reasons Artwork is Deleted document for more details about artwork presentation guidelines.
You may post multiple versions of an art piece in the Art gallery only if they
are very distinct. You may NOT however post
an artwork, delete it, and then post it again without significant changes
just to get more exposure.
Blogs, Diaries, and Journals are NOT allowed in the writing section. The
writing section is not intended for these types of writing. Also, don't
post extremely short writings or nonsense like "This
dude had a sword and then killed the bad guy" or something. Please
put EFFORT into your writing. Free writes and other short blurbs of writing
are allowed so long as they are placed in the "Free Writes"
library.
Photography is NOT allowed in the art galleries and comics sections except for photographs of sculptures and 2D art.
The art and comics sections are primarly for drawing and painting. If you have
photos of yourself or pets or whatever that you wish to post, you can post
them in your Image
Folio instead. Photo manipulation entries are also not allowed. If you have a sculpted piece that you'd like to submit to the gallery, be sure your photo follows our Photography presentation guidelines.
On PaperDemon.com in the writing section you may post an image as Cover
Art.
Don't post an image with mature imagery for your Cover Art of your writing.
Also do not put any images with mature imagery in the body of your writing.
