Help with GIMP

can someone PLEASE make some sort of watermark tutorial for GIMP? or a coloring tutorial? or even just a layers help guide? I've tried reading the online help-thing. it really sucks. I can't understand it. I really want to start putting some watermarks on some of my stuff before the drawing day hits. please someone take pity on a woe-ful incompetent idiot.

The method I've been using so far is Layers → New Layer.

Then I go into the module box that has all the layers. I decrease the watermark layer's opacity a bit. (It's one of the options above the list of layers.) Then, I go back into the artwork, and draw on my watermark.

a bit. if I fail, you'll know when I submit for drawing day. There may be watermarks, and there may not be...uggh I need photoshop. Thanks anyway!

I think I'll also create tutorials on how to crop and cleanup artwork. There are too many drawings being deleted from our site just because they can't meet our presentation requirements. Once we have a tutorial up there will be no more excuses

unless they use different programs. but we can tell them to download GIMP, and that its free. then they really won't have an excuse! did I mention how much you rawk?

Oh well. At least someone here is good at them, and even made a whole tutorial.

Actually, I was about to try yours when I saw BR's. I'm just very hard to teach.
